Short answers to the questions merchants ask most often. Longer explanations are linked from each answer.

Does UPINOW hold my money?

No. Every payment goes straight from your customer's UPI app to your own bank account. UPINOW only reads the bank's alert email afterwards to confirm the payment. See Security and privacy.

What does UPINOW cost?

0% transaction fee on every plan, always. Some plans have a monthly subscription price and a monthly collection cap; see Plans and billing.

Which UPI apps can my customers use?

Any of them. Your customer scans your QR or opens your link and pays with whichever UPI app they already have.

Which mailbox providers work with UPINOW?

Gmail only, for now. See Connect your Gmail alerts for how to set it up.

Do I need a website to use UPINOW?

No. You can create a payment link or QR code from your dashboard and share it directly with a customer; no website is required. See Payment links and QR.

What if a customer pays the wrong amount?

Each payment link asks for an exact amount, including a few unique paise, so UPINOW can match it. A payment for a different amount will not match that link and shows up in Needs review instead, so you can follow up with the customer directly.

What if my Gmail disconnects?

The top bar shows "Fix Gmail" until you reconnect (Settings, UPI accounts shows the fuller "Gmail trouble" pill on that account). New payments will not be confirmed until you fix it, so reconnect as soon as you can. See Troubleshooting.

Is the ₹1 test payment money lost?

No. The test payment goes to your own bank account, the same as any real customer payment. See Your first ₹1 test.

Can I use UPINOW from my own website or app?

Yes, through the API or the embedded QR widget, or with the plain PHP guide if you are not using a framework. See the Developers section.

Can my staff sign in to my UPINOW account?

Not yet: there is no way to invite anyone else into your business, so only the account owner signs in today. See Security and privacy for the roles UPINOW already has ready for when that opens up.

Can I use one Gmail for two UPI IDs?

No. Each UPI account needs its own connected Gmail. Nothing in a bank's alert email reliably names which UPI ID a payment was for, so one shared inbox would confirm every alert on every account reading it, and one customer's payment could end up stamping two orders paid. See Connect your Gmail alerts.

Will UPINOW ever ask for my UPI PIN, OTP or bank password?

No, never. UPINOW only reads a payment confirmation email; it never needs your PIN, OTP or any bank password to do that.

What happens when I reach my plan's limit?

New payment links stop being created in the dashboard, the API and the embedded widget, but any link you already shared keeps confirming payments as normal. Upgrade your plan to start creating new links again. See Plans and billing.
